In business today, having dependable legal counsel is essential. In-house counsel offers consistency and competency, but various factors often make paying a lawyer’s salary and benefits inequitable or impossible; especially because that salary is paid regardless of the need for legal work.

Shaw Lewenz offers an alternative. We offer programs specifically oriented to client’s needs and budget. Clients have the ability to retain SHAW|LEWENZ as an “outside-inhouse counsel.” This allows us to establish a relationship with our clients and focus on learning their business on a level much more detailed than a firm hired on a case-by-case basis. It is this type of relationship that allows Shaw Lewenz to serve the needs of clients on a more detailed, personal level than a firm that is hired only for a minor task.

Like an inside counsel, these programs give clients access to immediate answers, advice, and service; however, rather than pay a salary regardless of need, Business Counsel Program clients pay for services as they are rendered at a significantly lower rate.

The progam offers additional benefits such as personalized rates and retainers, non-billable status reports and inquiry requests, additional telephone time, and other business specific benefits. For example, a company whose line of business requires a large number of cease and desist letters may request that this type of work have a specific or lower rate. One of the few Fort Lauderdale firms with the capability to offer such services, we believe that a business should be able to call “their lawyer” rather than have to find “a lawyer.”
